The details of our activity are listed as follows. First, this activity is aimed at cultivating (giving a boost to ) your sense of responsibility, broadening your vision and sharpening your edge because, as our economy evolves at an incredible speed, it is becoming increasingly vital for young adults in the Ivory Tower to get in touch with the real world. Second, our activity begins at July 10th and ends at July 20th. Plus, the schedule involves blood donation, looking after senior citizens and conducting a survey on the city's traffic system to put forward our suggestions.
Come on, guys!
Dear Fellow Classmates，
The teaching program is designed to offer courses to some rural middle schools in northwestern China where teaching facilities are extremely limited. Program members will provide basic courses covering computer skills, English, history and other practical fields to students there. Recruitment will be closing on July 1st, and we are scheduled to set off on July 4th to give lectures for an hour each day for 20 days there. The team will be returning on July 24th.
We are convinced that your participation will bring remarkable value to both you and the children. All students who are interested are encouraged to attend our qualification test on May 15th. For further information, please feel free to call 01062138899, or you may email your questions to email@example.com.
In view of the ever-increasing car accidents and deaths caused by drinking driving over the past 5 years, the campaign is designed to help car drivers to be aware of the danger of drunken driving, promote responsible driving and urge the local authorities to introduce a designated(指定的) driver program. We are going to print posters and pamphlets, make banners and signs and send petition（申请）letters to the officials of local government. The tasks also include posting posters on streets, distributing the pamphlets among car drivers and mailing the letters to local officials. The event will last ten days, from July 10 to 19, 2006.
Any students of this school who are physically energetic, mentally enthusiastic about public affairs and socially committed to local road safety and awareness of drunken driving are qualified for the event. For signing up for the campaign, please contact us at 12345678.
Please get involved, today!
When students are choosing a professor, the first thing to consider is if he / she is well known in their field. You might want to check if they have published many books or articles. You also might want to ask others if this lecturer is in a position to give you recommendations for work or graduate school.
The benefit of selecting your own teacher is that it gives students a feeling of responsibility for their education. The drawback, however, is that sometimes students often base their choices on other students’ opinions. Teachers who give higher marks tend to be popular whereas those who have higher expectations, even if a better teacher, might not be well liked.
Students Selecting Their Lecturers
An increasing number of universities are undertaking some changes by giving their students freedom to choose their own lecturers for some courses. This practice, ever since it comes out, has been very popular with students.
There are several factors influencing students’ choice of the lecturers. Firstly, an ideal lecturer should have an interesting and humorous teaching style, so that students can learn their subjects in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Secondly, a diverse academic background is also preferred since a knowledgeable teacher can greatly enlarge students’ scope of knowledge. Last but not least, a teacher with an agreeable personality is also desirable to students.
This practice undoubtedly has lots of positive effects on the present college education, as it can encourage students to take an active part in study and urges teachers to improve their teaching quality. However, it can inevitably bring some negative effects. For instance, some teachers may try to cater to the students’ interest to increase the popularity of their lessons, while ignoring the teaching plan, which may lead to the opposite direction of high education quality.
